You will notice a few small changes to our first yoga weekend for 2017. The retreat will begin on Friday evening, making it a little easier for our travellers. We all love a little gift!  - so we are putting together a delightful yogi package for you, including a linseed and silk eye pillow, a copper tongue scraper, incense and a bag of hand made 'feed the yogi' granola. We have also made the classes each two hours long - this may seem strenuous, but don't worry - it simply means time for a more balanced practice. Plenty of time to move the body through asana, time to focus on the breath, time to pause and 'workshop' postures for correct alignment and enough time for a 30 minute meditation practice. Meditation is a focus of this weekend. Learn the benefits, tools and techniques to start or continue your meditation practice.
After the first class on Friday evening, you will leave with a delicious bowl of goodness in the form of kitchari, a balanced, easy to digest Ayurvedic dish which is traditionally served to yogis in Ashrams. We'll have Ayurvedic relishes, herbs and gomasio for condiments. If the evening is pleasant you might like to bring a rug and sit outside the Old Kirk picnic style, or of course take it home and share with your loved ones (you can order extra meals if you like!).
After class on Saturday morning, we invite you back to the cottage for breakfast on the deck. The day is free for you to sit on the beach, read a book, indulge in a massage or walk along the beach.
Saturday evening after yoga, we will again meet at the Cottage for our wholefood dinner. This time however, we will come straight from yoga and sit comfortably in our yoga wear to share our meal. This allows for an earlier night! After all it's often what we need to balance hectic day to day lives.
Finally, we will take just 12 bookings to allow for a more personal experience.
